Known for their innovative and imaginative productions, opera company Dramma per Musica joins Sea Change Theatre Company to present Xerxes: A Comedy of Errors. In this updated retelling of the classic tale about monarchs behaving badly, the action has been transported from Ancient Persia to present day Wall Street, in which a wealthy CEO makes a play for his younger brother’s girlfriend. Add to this love triangle a scheming younger sister, a doting dad, a seriously overworked intern, and a surprise visitor from out of town, and you have a recipe for madcap comedy. Audiences will surely delight in the pairing of Handel’s sprightly score with
Dramma per Musica’s witty new English translation.
